Massachusetts Hockey Welcomes MacDonald For 2020-21

The 5-10, 154-pound forward is a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and comes to UMass out of the USHL.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey welcomes 5-10, 154-pound forward Oliver MacDonald to its freshman class for 2020-21, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Wednesday. MacDonald comes to Amherst after playing the past two seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and is the seventh new addition to the Minutemen's roster for the upcoming season, joining forward Josh Lopina, defensemen Linden Alger and Aaron Bohlinger, goaltender Henry Graham and a pair of forward transfers in Carson Gicewicz and Jerry Harding.
"Oliver played the last two seasons in the USHL, primarily for the Muskegon Lumberjacks," said Carvel. "Last season he averaged a point per-game, but had his season shortened with a wrist injury. Oliver is a skilled offensive player who is crafty and competitive. We will look to him to add speed and scoring to our lineup."
A native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, MacDonald saw action in 89 career USHL games between the Fargo Force and the Muskegon Lumberjacks and totaled 64 points on 23 goals and 41 assists and was +19. In 2019-20, He had 22 points (22g, 11a) with Muskegon before ending the year in Fargo where he put up 14 points (4g, 10a) in nine games.
