Last Time Out
The Minutemen defended their home grass at Rudd Field with a pair of shutout victories last week, opening up play at home with a 4-0 win over Sacred Heart before picking up a 1-0 win over Boston University on Saturday afternoon. The pair of wins featured four first time scorers for UMass as Graham Brenner, Quinn Serafino, Logan Brown and Nathaniel Cardoza each found the back of the net for the first time in the maroon and white. Goalkeeper Marvyn Dorchin posted 180 minutes between the posts in two games while collecting four saves with no goals allowed.
Shutout Streak
UMass has opened up the 2019 campaign with three consecutive clean sheets, marking the first time that a Minuteman squad has done so to open up a season since 1996. If the Minutemen were to pick up a shutout on Tuesday at Dartmouth, it would be the first time it has been done to open a season since 1971 while a 4-0 record would mark the best start to a season since 1978.
Looking Ahead
The Minutemen open up a three-game road stretch, their longest of the 2019 season, at Dartmouth tomorrow followed by Central Connecticut State on Saturday and Bryant a week from Tuesday. UMass last picked up a win over Dartmouth during the 2012 campaign for its sixth win in the series history as the Big Green head into tomorrow's contest with a 0-1 record after falling to No. 1-nationally ranked Wake Forest in their season opener. The Minutemen hold a 4-1-1 series lead over CCSU after grabbing a 5-2 win at Rudd Field a season ago.
Home Slate
UMass has just one game at Rudd Field over the next three weeks of action, returning home on Sept. 21 to faceoff against UMass Lowell before playing Saint Louis, Fordham and Yale at home in a 10 day span to open up the month of October.
