AMHERST, Mass. – Kaycee Carbone of the UMass Softball team was one of 11 players selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team selected by CoSIDA. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Carbone (Hudson, N.H.) added to her list of postseason awards after earning NFCA Third-Team All-Region honors a week ago as she posted a .336 average at the plate on the year with a .345 mark in Atlantic 10 play to go along with 34 RBI and a .540 slugging percentage. The two-time Atlantic 10 All-Academic selection's on-base percentage of .463 ranks 14th-highest in a single season in program history while her .401 career mark ranks 18th-best at UMass. Carbone drove in 109 RBI in her four-year career with the Minutewomen, ranking 17th-most all-time while ranking 14th in career homers.
Academic All-District honorees from the eight districts advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot with the first, second and third-teams announced in June.
