University of Massachusetts Women's Lacrosse Preview

• It's a mid-week matinee for the UMass women's lacrosse team as Marist visits Garber Field on Wednesday at 3 PM. Admission is free to all.
• The Minutewomen are coming off a 19-13 home win over UConn last Saturday where Kiley Anderson led all scorers with a school-record nine goals. She also tied the single-game record for points by adding an assist for 10 points on the afternoon. A major reason for Anderson's scoring success was the school-recording tying performance of Kaitlyn Cerasi who had seven assists to go with two goals. The win over UConn marked the seventh straight in the series for the Minutewomen.
• This will only be the fifth game between the two teams with UMass having won the four previous meetings. The Minutewomen defeated Marist 23-7 in their first meeting in Poughkeepsie in the 2011 season. UMass also won last season's meeting at Marist 19-10 as eight different goal scorers found the net. Cassidy Doster led all players with four goals, while three others had a hat trick as well.
• On the year, Cerasi leads UMass with 22 points on the strength of 15 assists and seven goals. Anderson leads the Minutewomen in goals with 20 and leads the squad in draw controls (26) as well. Stephanie Croke, Haley Connaughton and Hannah Palau have reached double-figures in points for the year as well.
• One of the most winningest programs in NCAA women's lacrosse over the last nine years with 144 victories (including this year), UMass has reached the NCAA Tournament in nine of the previous 10 years with the Minutewomen reaching the second round in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. In 2016, UMass reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 1984.
• Since 2011, UMass is 69-5 at home between Garber Field and McGuirk Stadium as its home venues. Since moving back to Garber Field in 2016, the Minutewomen are 23-2 in the stadium with the two loses both coming from Boston College.
