Hockey Earns No. 4 Overall Seed In NCAA Tournament

The Minutemen, making their second-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, will face Harvard in the Northeast Regional Semifinal on Friday, March 29.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has earned the No. 4 overall seed in the 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship bracket, which was announced on Sunday on ESPNU. The Minutemen, making their second-ever NCAA Tournament berth, will be the No. 1 seed in the Northeast Regional at SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire and will face No. 4 Harvard on Friday, March 29, at 3 p.m. on ESPN2/WatchESPN.
 
The winner will advance to the Northeast Regional Championship vs. the winner of Friday's No. 2 Clarkson vs. No. 3 Notre Dame matchup on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m.
 
UMass' first NCAA appearance came back in 2007, which opened with a 1-0 win over Clarkson in Rochester, New York, before falling to Maine, 3-1 in the East Regional final. The Minutemen are 1-6-1 all-time vs. Harvard and have not faced the Crimson since 2012 in Amherst.
