Burnett, Turner Selected For IWLCA All-Star Game

The Senior All-Star game will be held June 2 in Sparks, Md.
AMHERST, Mass. - After tremendous senior campaigns, UMass' Hannah Burnett and Holly Turner have been selected to play in the 2018 IWLCA Senior All-Star game which will be held June 2 on Tierney Field in Sparks, Md.
The IWLCA announced the rosters for the Division I, II, and III all-star selections on Friday afternoon. The 44 players selected in each Division have been divided into two teams: North and South. The Division I teams will play the first game at 11:30 am, the Division II game will follow at 1:00 pm, and the Division III teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 pm. Admission for all three games is free of charge. The games will also be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.
One of the top offensive players in the league for second straight year, Burnett earned her second career honor as a member of the IWLCA All-Northeast Region Team after being named to the second team last year as well. The Huntington, N.Y., native led UMass in goals (61) and second in points (78) - a career-best total. She finished her UMass career ranked 5th all-time in goals (156) and eighth in points (197) while tying the single-game record for points (10) and setting the single-game mark for goals (8) during her time in Amherst. Her 78 points this year are the sixth-most for a single-season, while her 61 goals were the fourth most. Burnett has also been a two-time A-10 All-Academic selection and member of the All-Atlantic 10 squad during her UMass career.
Turner led the A-10 in points (93), assists (51) and finished the year with 42 goals. One of the top all-time players in UMass history, the Pittsford, N.Y., native ranks second for career points (280), is seventh for goals (137) and holds the program record for assists (143). The senior posted a career-best 51 assists this year was also an All-Atlantic 10 First Team pick. Defensively, Turner increased her productivity on the ride as well with career-best numbers for caused turnovers (22) and groundballs (40). Overall, this marked the second consecutive year Turner was honored to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region First-Team.
