Minutewomen Finish No. 23 and 25 in Final National Polls

AMHERST, Mass. Following an outstanding 2026 season, the UMass women's lacrosse team came in at No. 23 in the final IWLCA Coaches Poll and 25 in the final KANE Women's DI Media Poll, as announced this week. The Minutewomen finished the season at 16-3, sweeping the MAC regular season and postseason to earn their second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and third in the last four years.
 
In its NCAA First Round Game, UMass lost a 17-16 heartbreaker at sixth-seeded Navy, in a game that came down to the final seconds. The Midshipmen went on to beat Syracuse to advance to the national quarterfinals, where they played a tight game at third-seeded Maryland.
 
In the end, UMass advanced to a conference championship game for an 18th straight season. The Minutewomen finished with the No. 2 scoring offense and No. 3 scoring defense in the nation, proving to be one of the nation's top teams on both sides of the ball. Kassidy Morris was named first team All-Region and All-ECAC, along with first team All-MAC. Bridget Valentine was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, with Cate Marshall garnering MAC Rookie of the Year and Jana Drummond earning Coach of the Year.
