The 6’1”, 195-pound defenseman logged 27 points last season in the USHL with the Madison Capitols.

AMHERST, Mass.- Colin Felix, a 6'1", 195-pound defenseman from Audubon, New Jersey, has signed his National Letter of Intent to join the University of Massachusetts hockey program in 2018-19, head coach Greg Carvel announced on Thursday. Felix joins forwards Anthony Del Gaizo and Bobby Kaiser, defensemen Marc Del Gaizo, Ty Farmer, Kolby Vegara, and goaltender Filip Lindberg as the seventh member of the Minutemen's Class of 2022.

"Colin Felix had a breakout year this past season in the USHL, putting up impressive numbers of 8-19-27 and an intimidating 166 penalty minutes, said Carvel. "Ultimately what I like best about Colin is his character and what he will add to our culture. We heard great things this past year about his leadership as a first-year player in the USHL. He is a bigger body defenseman who plays an honest game and will complement our backend with his size and compete."

Felix played his final year of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) as a member of the Madison Capitols and logged eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points over 56 games. In 2016-17, Felix was a member of the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) where he totaled 13 points over 49 games and was a +16.

Felix played three seasons (2013-16) of prep hockey at St. George's School in Middletown, Rhode Island where he registered 53 points (14g, 39a) in 71 career games.
