Oliver Earns Second A-10 Pitcher Of The Week Award

Kiara Oliver earned the weekly honor after going 2-0 in the circle with a 0.79 ERA and 22 strikeouts.
AMHERST, Mass. – Freshman pitcher Kiara Oliver was named the Atlatnic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after putting together a perfect 2-0 showing in the circle with 22 strikeouts as the Minutewomen went 4-1 in five games last week.
Oliver (North Kingston, R.I.) posted a 0.79 ERA in 17.2 innings of work, beginning her week with a seven-strikeout performance in relief against Boston College on Wednesday at Sortino Field. The right-hander struck out eight while allowing just two hits in a 5-1 game two win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon before going on to strikeout seven batters in game three to bring her total on the week to 22.
On the season, Oliver continues to lead the Atlantic 10 in total strikeouts with 129 during her freshman campaign to go along with a 14-3 record on the year and an 8-0 record in league play. In A-10 play, Oliver owns an 8-0 record and a sub-one ERA at 0.93 to go along with 48 strikeouts and a .185 opponent batting-average.
Oliver and the Minutewomen will be back in action tomorrow for a league doubleheader against Rhode Island tomorrow beginning at 1 p.m. before taking on regional opponent UConn on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
