Oliver Tabbed Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher Of The Week

Freshman Kiara Oliver earned her first A-10 award after a 2-0 week at the Louisville Classic.
AMHERST, Mass. – Kiara Oliver of the University of Massachusetts softball team was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 14.0 innings pitched over the weekend at the Louisville Classic.
Oliver (North Kingston, R.I.) picked up her first win of the weekend against Eastern Michigan, striking out seven in a complete game win as she grabbed her fourth win of the season. The freshman followed up with a complete game win over Louisville on Saturday, striking out three and holding the Cardinals to just one earned run while ending their 10-game winning-streak as she moved to 5-1 on the season.
Through 10 appearances and seven starts this season, Oliver has tossed 52.1 innings with six complete games and one shutout. Oliver leads the A-10 in strikeouts on the year with 56 and ranks second in the league in strikeouts per seven innings with seven and a half.
Oliver and the Minutewomen return to action this weekend for four games at the St. John's University Invite, beginning with Binghamton and Boston University on Saturday.
