Four different Minutewomen tally goals to improve unbeaten streak to three.

AMHERST, Mass. - It was an offensive display on Thursday afternoon as the UMass women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three matches with a 4-1 win over Rhode Island at Rudd Field. All four goals came from different players as the Minutewomen posted their highest scoring total in a match this season.

The win improved UMass to 6-5-2 overall and 3-1-1 in league play, while the Rams fall to 3-10-0 overall and 0-5-0 in league action. The Minutewomen return home on Sunday afternoon when league-leader La Salle visits for a 1 PM kickoff.

In Thursday's win, Gabriela Kenyon started the scoring spree in the 28th minute with a hard strike from 18 yards out that glanced off the top of the cross bar and deflected into the goal. Nearly a minute later, Kelly Marra made it a 2-0 lead when she hit a hard ball from six yards out. The tally marked Marra's third of the season with all of them serving as game-winning goals.

After halftime, Jenna Thomas scored her first goal of the season in the 57th minute after she headed a shot inside the back post after a corner kick service bay Sarah Beaulieu.

Both Thomas and Marra added assists on the day giving each a career-best three points in the match.

The Rams scored their lone goal in the 59th minute on a header by Emily Wakeford and continued to pressure the UMass defense over the next 15 minutes of play.

Natalie Perussault scored the second goal of her career in the 82nd minute as one final piece of insurance to seal the win.

Overall, UMass held a 22-to-8 advantage in shots including an 18-to-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Minutewomen also picked up six corners to just two for Rhode Island.

Cassidy Babin picked up the win in goal making a pair of saves. Haley Brennan started the match for the Rams making four saves, while Julia Freeman played the second half making four saves as well.
