Depth Leads Women's Swimming to Win Over Bryant

Minutewomen take first place in 12 events on Saturday.
AMHERST, Mass. – In its first meet back since the holiday break, the UMass women's swimming and diving team used 12 first place finishes to defeat Bryant 186-106 on Saturday afternoon at Joseph's R. Rogers Pool. Ansley Baker, Maja Boric, Olga Egkorova, and Meriza Werenski all won multiple events during the day.
The meet also served as senior day for the swimmers with Werenski, being honored alongside classmates Sydney Connor, Jenna Diamond, Ivy Durepo, Katie Scordato, and Allie Vitous.
The Minutewomen will return to action on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Rogers Pool when Rhode Island visits. The meet is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
UMass also had five event sweeps taking the top three spots: 100 breast, 50 free, 1-meter dive, 100 free, and the 3-meter dive.
