Women’s Swim & Dive Completes Day Three Action At The MAC Championships

The Minutewomen saw two all-time records on the day.
AKRON, Ohio – University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team finished day three action at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships on Friday evening at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium.
Sophomore Karinne Everly kicked off the finals events with an 11th-place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.36. Everly's time matched a personal-best that also stood fifth in the all-time records. Sophomore Maria Grishaeva took fourth in the 400 individual medley finals, swimming a time of 4:19.67.
In the 100 breaststroke, freshman Kate Baranova placed sixth with a personal-best time of 1:01.56. The mark ranks second in program history. Junior Lindsay Burbage followed in ninth with a season-best time of 1:01.75 in the event.
The 200 freestyle relay team of junior Beren Cakiroglu, junior Diya Ackerman-Vallala, Everly and sophomore Courtney Tedesco swam into ninth with a time of 1:33.29.
During the preliminaries, Tedesco swam a personal-best time of 56.61 in the 100 butterfly.

Sophomore Khrystyna Yaremyn advanced to the finals of the three-meter dive after placing 13th with a score of 235.05 in the preliminary round. Yaremyn took 10th in the finals with a six-dive total of 267.45.

The final day of the MAC Championships takes place on Saturday, February 28, in Akron, Ohio, at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium. The preliminary events begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m.
