Women’s Swim & Dive Finishes Day One Of MAC Championships

The Minutewomen resume action for day two on Thursday, February 26, starting at 10 a.m.
AKRON, Ohio – University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team finished day one of competition at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships at Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium on Wednesday evening.
The 200 medley relay team consisting of sophomore Maria Grishaeva, freshman Kate Baranova, sophomore Karinne Everly and sophomore Courtney Tedesco finished with a time of 1:44.03 to place seventh in the event.
During the 800 freestyle relay, the team of sophomore Hannah Schoenauer, junior Diya Ackerman-Vallala, junior Olga Stoura and junior Beren Cakiroglu combined for a time of 7:29.24 to take seventh on the day.
The Minutewomen continue with day two of the MAC Championships on Thursday, February 26, in Akron, Ohio, at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m., with the finals starting at 6 p.m.
