Women’s Swim & Dive Concludes Time At The MAC Championships

The Minutewomen finish seventh in the team rankings.

AKRON, Ohio – University of Massachusetts women's swimming and diving team completed its time at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday evening at the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium. The Minutewomen finished seventh with 195 points.

Additionally, sophomore Maria Grishaeva earned a spot on the 2026 All-MAC Second Team.

Starting off the finals, Grishaeva garnered the bronze medal in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.86. Grishaeva advanced to the finals after swimming a personal-best time of 2:12.95 during the preliminaries of the event, marking the second-best record in program history. Sophomore Kendall Gilbert finished the 200 breaststroke finals with a season-best time of 2:18.35 to place 14th.

Sophomore Karinne Everly took 13th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.61.  

The 400 freestyle relay team of junior Beren Cakiroglu, sophomore Hannah Schoenauer, Everly and sophomore Courtney Tedesco finished ninth with a time of 3:25.77.
During the preliminaries, junior Olga Stoura (2:05.04) and junior Sophie Porter (2:07.62) both recorded personal-bests in the 200 backstroke. Tedesco posted a personal-best of 51.66 in the 100 freestyle preliminaries.

In the 200 breaststroke preliminaries, freshman Kate Baranova swam a personal-best time of 2:20.27, which ranked 10th in the all-time records.
