Women’s Swimming Finishes Fourth at Terrier Invitational

Three Minutewomen turn in top-10 all-time performances on final day.
BOSTON – Three different Minutewomen turned in top-10 all-time performances for the UMass swimming program as the team wrapped up the Terrier Invitational with a fourth-place overall finish on Sunday evening.
The day started with Olga Egkorova taking fourth in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 17 minutes, 5.33 seconds which stands third all-time in program history.
Meghan Gray placed eighth in the 200 back with a time of 2:07.77; her time of 2:06.13 in the prelims was good for 7th-best all-time at UMass.
Sydney Connor rounded out the trio as her seventh-place time of 2:22.14 in the 200 breast was also the seventh-fastest performance in program history.
Jenna Diamond had the highest individual finish with second in the 200 fly (2:06.17). She was followed in the event by Egkorova who placed eighth overall.
Other highlights from the day included Steph Campo placing seventh in the 1,650 free (17:21.57) and Meriza Werenski finish sixth in the 200 breast (2:21.93).
The Minutewomen are off until the spring semester begins in January. The next competition will be a home dual meet against Bryant on January 14. The UMass divers will compete at the Bucknell Invitational (Dec. 2-4) to close out their fall semester competition.
