Lindley Picked For CAA Rookie Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Massachusetts freshman Peter Lindley earned CAA Rookie of the Week after he provided eight points during victories over Quinnipiac and Penn State. Lindley recorded five points on a hat trick and two assists when UMass defeated Quinnipiac, 18-5 and added three points (two goals, one assist) in the 12-8 comeback triumph over Penn State.

Lindley needed only eight shots to record his five goals and currently holds a .583 shot percentage, the third-highest in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse. The Darien, Connecticut, native has 20 points through seven games, with at least one goal in each contest.

Hofstra's Sam Llinares is the CAA Player of the Week. The last Minuteman who earned CAA Rookie of the Week was Nick Mariano on March 17, 2014.

Massachusetts begins CAA play against Llinares and the Pride with a Saturday, March 21 contest at Shuart Stadium in Hempstead, New York, at Noon.
