Massachusetts Hockey In The Pros: 2015-16 Update #2

AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts hockey has 28 alumni currently playing professionally around the globe in eight different countries including three former Minutemen in the NHL, eight in the AHL and seven in the ECHL. Here are a few highlights of recent performances by UMass hockey alums:
Frank Vatrano (Boston Bruins, NHL)
After being sidelined for six days after suffering an injury vs. Minnesota, returned to the Bruins’ lineup on 11/25 vs. Detroit … Registered the overtime game-wining goal and an assist, earning the first star of the game … Performance vs. the Red Wings marked first multi-point NHL game … Upcoming games: 12/2 (Wed.) at Edmonton, 12/4 (Fri.) at Calgary, 12/5 at Vancouver.
Jonathan Quick (Los Angeles Kings, NHL)
Named one of the three Stars of the Game in two out of his last three games … Tabbed the third star on 11/23 at Florida following a 3-1 win … Was the second star on 11/25 at Tampa Bay in a shootout loss 2-1, but registered 29 saves … Upcoming games: 12/1 (Tue.) vs. Vancouver, 12/5 (Sat.) vs. Pittsburgh, 12/6 (Sun.) vs. Tampa Bay.
Conor Sheary (Wilkes-Barre Scranton, AHL)
Has 13 points in his last seven games (2g, 11a) with 19 points overall (3g, 16a) this season with in 18 games … Sits atop the AHL leaderboard in assists with 16 and tied for first on the WBS squad with 19 points … Upcoming games: 12/4 (Fri.) vs. Lehigh Valley, 12/5 (Sat.) vs. Hartford, 12/6 (Sun.) at Hershey.
Brandon Montour (San Diego, AHL)
Named AHL Rookie of the Month for November ... Leads San Diego in points this season with 21 (5g, 16a) in 19 games … Is tied for fifth in points in the AHL and leads all defensemen … Registered an assist in each of his last two games (11/27, 11/28) and a goal on 11/25 … Upcoming games: 12/4 (Fri.) at Bakersfield, 12/5 (Sat.) at Stockton, 12/11 (Fri.) at Bakersfield.
