Three Men's Lacrosse Alumni Chosen In MLL Supplemental Draft

BOSTON - Three former UMass men's lacrosse standouts - Anthony Biscardi, Brett Garber and Ryan Hollenbaugh - were selected during the 2015 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft Wednesday afternoon. Garber and Hollenbaugh were taken by the Boston Cannons while the New York Lizards added Biscardi.
Garber, taken with the 44th pick, was the first Minuteman selected on the day. He scored 65 goals and added 25 assists during 62 games played with the University of Massachusetts from 2004-07. Garber continued his lacrosse career after graduation with 26 goals and 14 assists during 44 games played in MLL during the last eight seasons, including three with the Cannons from 2007-09.
Bisacrdi's named was called during the seventh round at No. 54. Biscardi had 98 points via 65 goals and 33 assists with the Maroon and White and added 38 groundballs during his career, which included 42 victories in four years. Biscardi continued playing during the 2012 and 2013 MLL seasons, where he played in the midfield for the Ohio Machine.
Hollenbaugh competed at UMass at close defense from 2010-13 and started for the squad in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The Glastonbury, Connecticut, native scooped up 67 groundballs and caused 46 turnovers during his collegiate career. He has spent time on the Cannons roster during the 2014 season but did not compete with the team.
