UMass To Compete In CAA Tournament As No. 4 Seed

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass men's lacrosse will participate in the upcoming CAA Tournament as the No. 4 seed, facing No. 1 and host Penn State during the semifinals in University Park, Pa., on Wednesday, May 1 at 3 p.m., as announced by the conference on Saturday. The Minutemen earned the seed with a win over Delaware on Friday and losses by Hofstra and Saint Joseph's on Saturday.
No. 2 Drexel will face No. 3 Towson to complete the semifinal round, with the CAA Tournament Championship Game following on Friday at 3 p.m.
UMass capped the regular season at 7-7 overall and 2-4 in conference contests, with consecutive victories against Hofstra, 9-8 and Delaware, 16-8 to leap over the Pride and Saint Joseph's to claim the final seed. With its upcoming postseason appearance, the Minutemen have qualified for each CAA Tournament since joining the conference prior to the 2010 season.
The Minutemen won the league's championship in 2012 for their first CAA title after reaching the finale the season prior.
