Biscardi, Manny Among 25 Nominees For Tewaaraton Award

AMHERST, Mass. - Anthony Biscardi and Will Manny have both been named to the Tewaaraton Award Nominee list as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Wednesday. The duo are part of 25 nominees up for college lacrosse's highest individual honor. The Minutemen are also one of just five teams to have two players listed as nominees.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be announced May 10 and invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony. The original men's and women's watch lists, were announced Feb. 15 with additions made March 20 and April 3 and were ultimately comprised of 82 men's players and 57 women's players.
"We congratulate these 50 elite student-athletes on their remarkable accomplishments thus far this season," said Jeff Harvey, chairman of the Tewaaraton Foundation. "With the help of our selection committees, we look forward to announcing this year's finalists next month." The selection committees are comprised of 12 men's and ten women's current and former coaches.
Manny leads UMass with 33 goals and 24 assists for 57 points which ranks 4th nationally. Biscardi is one of the top midfielders in the CAA with 16 goals and 5 assists through 12 games.
The No. 2 Minutemen head to CAA rival Delaware on Friday (7 PM) in the regular-season finale. UMass sealed the top-seed in the CAA Tournament and will host a semifinal game next Wednesday, May 2 at Garber Field.
