HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The UMass baseball team held an early lead, but five unearned runs proved costly in an 11-6 setback to Michigan at the Bearkat Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Following the loss, the Minutemen sit at 0-2 on the season, while the Wolverines move to 2-8 on the year.

The Minutemen loaded the bases in the seventh, drawing three walks, but were unable to capitalize on the situation.
The Wolverines went on to pull away with two in the eighth and three in the ninth. John Lorenz came up with a two-run single up the middle that brought in Garrett Stephens and Anthony Toth.
