Minutemen Face Quinnipiac On NESN
• After a tough 2-1 loss at Vermont on Tuesday, UMass heads to Quinnipiac to kick-off a three-game stretch against non-conference foes to close out the first half of the season. This will be just the third-ever meeting between the two clubs as both teams have held serve on their home ice.
• This three-game stretch will be key for UMass as each game is the sole focus of the three weekends ahead. The Harvard and Yale games will also be at the Mullins Center where UMass is 4-0-2 this season.
• The Minutemen won last season’s meeting with Quinnipiac 5-2 at the Mullins Center. Adam Phillips scored a pair of goals in a game where defensemen accounted for seven of UMass’ 13 points in the game.

 BROADCAST INFORMATION
• All games will be broadcast live on the Flagship Station of UMass Athletics, 100.9 FM WRNX, with John Hennessy calling the play-by-play and Brock Hines providing color commentary. The pregame show for both games will begin 30 minutes prior to the opening face-off. Links for streaming video, audio, and live stats can be found at UMassAthletics.com.

The Series with Quinnipiac
• One of the newest series in program history is that with Quinnipiac. UMass and the Bobcats are tied at 1-1 after having played each of the last two seasons. Quinnipiac won the first ever meeting 5-4 in overtime, while UMass won 5-2 last year at the Mullins Center.

The Series with Harvard
• Harvard and UMass have not met on the ice since 2003. The Crimson lead the all-time series 6-1-0 with UMass’ only win coming on Dec. 30, 1999 (W, 4-2) at the Mariucci Classic in Minnesota.

Next Up: Harvard / Yale
• Next up for UMass will be ECAC foes Harvard and Yale. at the Mullins Center. UMass will host Harvard on Dec. 2 (7 PM) and Yale on Dec. 7 (7 PM) before taking the winter break. UMass is currently 4-0-2 at home entering those games.
• UMass and Yale last played in 2009 with UMass win 4-3 in overtime. A familiar face will great the Minutemen as former assistant coach Red Gendron now coaches for the Bulldogs. UMass has won three straight dating back to 1995, however, Yale leads the all-time series 12-5-0.

Story Lines: Quinnipiac
• UMass’ loss at UMass Lowell snapped a four-game unbeaten streak ... In those four games, UMass was averaging just over 4 goals per game while giving up 2 per game.
• The tie with Maine keeps UMass unbeaten in the Mullins Center this season at 4-0-2.
• When allowing 4 or more goals this year, UMass is 0-5-0, however, when cutting that to 3-or-fewer, UMass is 4-1-3
• Holding a lead or being tied after 2 periods has also been a good omen for UMass this year as the Minutemen are 4-1-2 (0-4-1 when trailing)
• UMass struggled on the power play in the last three games going 0-for-16 breaking a streak of six games with a power play goal. That performance dropped the conversion rate from 22 percent to 18 percent.
• With 11 assists each, Conor Sheary and T.J. Syner are tied for the Hockey East lead in assists this season.
• Conor Allen posted 3 goals and 1 assist in the pair of wins over Holy Cross and Northeastern with a  +3 rating for last weekend. He became just the 3rd defenseman in UMass’ Division I history to score a hat trick with all three of his goals coming vs. Holy Cross.
• Conor Sheary had a four-assist weekend with a career-high three against Holy Cross. His lone assist against Northeastern set-up the game-winning goal.
• T.J. Syner has at least one point in 11 of 13 games this season and ranks 2nd in Hockey East scoring (17th nationally). He is also first in Hockey East and tied for 17th nationally in assists.
• Kevin Boyle made 33 saves the win over Northeastern. He allowed just 2 goals both of which were on power plays. 15 of his saves came in the first period, while 12 were in the third.
• Steve Mastalerz posted his first collegiate win over Holy Cross with 22 saves while helping the penalty kill unit go 4-for-4 as well. He made 30 saves in the loss at UMass Lowell.
• The win over Boston College snapped a 12-game losing skid to the Eagles – the last UMass win coming on Nov. 22, 2008 in the Mullins Center (4-3, OT)
• UMass had a season-high 47 shots in the win over Bentley – its most since 48 against Providence on Oct. 31, 2009
• The line of T.J. Syner, Michael Pereira and Danny Hobbs combined for 10 points (4g, 6a) in the win over Bentley. All told for the Bentley/Providence weekend, the trio tallied 16 points (6g, 10a).
