Marcou A Guest For College Hockey All-Access

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass hockey fans across the country can hear James Marcou this Saturday and Sunday as he will be a guest on the College Hockey All-Access show on NHL Home Ice which is available to XM (Channel 204) and Sirius (Channel 208) Satellite Radio subscribers. Saturday's show begins at 11 AM EST while Sunday's encore presentation begins at Noon EST.
Marcou is off to a blazing start to the 2009-10 season as he is tied for the Hockey East lead in points (3-11-14), leads the league in assists, and is tied for the league lead in power play points (1-7-8). He leads the 11th-ranked Minutemen in scoring and ranks 6th nationally in points and 2nd in assists.
In 2008-09, Marcou became the sixth UMass player to ever be named an All-American. This season, he has gained national attention as one of the early front runners for the Hobey Baker Award which is awarded to college hockey's top player.
This past October he was named the Hockey East Player of the Month and the Hockey Commissioner's Association National Player of the Month Runner-Up.
Marcou was also mentioned in the Hockey East Notebook titled "Marcou Is The Man" in the Nov. 16 edition of "The Hockey News".
The College Hockey All-Access Show began on Oct. 24 and will air each week through the 2010 Frozen Four in Detroit. It is co-hosted by Matt Shepard and Fred Pletsch with additional feature material provided each week by reporters covering college hockey's six Division I conferences. USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., will also receive regular attention on the show.
