Hockey East Quarterfinals * Game 2 * Best Of Three Series
• Saturday night was the seventh meeting between UMass and New Hampshire in the Hockey East Tournament with the Wildcats now holding a 6-1 record over the Minutemen. This was just the third meeting between the two clubs in the quarterfinal round of the tournament.
• UMass is now 8-18 in Hockey East Tournament games.
• UMass is now 7-10-1 against ranked teams this season including a 4-4-1 record against teams in the top 10 nationally. All four losses to top 10 ranked teams were against New Hampshire.
• UMass falls to 0-13-4 when scoring fewer than three goals in a game.
• UMass gave up a season-high seven goals in the game. It was the first time since Dec. 9, 2005 at Boston College (L, 0-7) that the Minutemen gave up seven goals in a game - a span of 97 games.
• Alex Berry scored UMass' first goal of the game. It was his seventh goal in the last nine games. Berry's 10 goals this season are a career high.
• P.J. Fenton was credited with an assist on Berry's goal. Fenton finishes his career tied for ninth all-time at UMass with 95 career points and ninth in career assists (58). He is tied with Chris Capraro (2002-07) for career points and Thomas Pock (2000-04) for career assists.
• David Leaderer played in his 149th career game at UMass which is a program best. He set the school record originally on March 8 at Merrimack. Marvin Degon formerly held the record with 146 career games from 2002-06.
• Leaderer scored UMass' second goal of the game which was his third of the season. It was his first power play goal of the season. He finishes his career with 11 goals and 17 assists.
• Cory Quirk assisted on both goals moving him into 23rd all-time at UMass for career assists (41). He also moved into 22nd place with 73 career points. It was the third time this season he had two assists in a game. He finished the year scoring nine points in the final eight games. (3g, 6a).
