TRENTON, N.J. - UMass Senior Chris Capraro became the fourth Minuteman to sign a pro deal this year, joining the Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) last week. Capraro, who wears No. 2 for the Titans, has a power play goal and two assists in his three games. Trenton is currently facing the Johnstown Chiefs in the best-of-three North Division Quarterfinal series, with Trenton topping Johnstown 4-2 on Monday night to take the one game lead.
"I had a great time at UMass and am grateful for the experience," said Capraro. "I enjoyed my time there and am excited about having similar opportunities here."
Capraro closed out his career by leading UMass in points (35) and assists (25) in 2006-07. His 35 points was the most for a Minuteman since Thomas Pöck's 41 in 2003-04, while his 20 points in league play (6g, 14a) also paced the team. Capraro's 95 career points ranks ninth on UMass' all-time scoring list, while he is one of 11 Hockey East athletes to reach the 90-point mark (career) in 2006-07. He set new personal marks for goals (10) assists (25) and points (35) as a senior.
