UMass Looks To Snap Two-Game Losing Skid Against Boston University On Wednesday
• The Minutemen look to snap a two-game losing skid on Wednesday afternoon when they host Boston University at Rudd Field. Kick-off is slated for 3:00 p.m. UMass is 18-12-4 all-time against the Terriers.
• The two sides battled into overtime last season before Sedrick Chin placed a shot into the top corner of the net for the 1-0 Terrier win in Boston.
• Over the last 10 seasons, the series between the programs has been split with each team winning five meetings each.
• The series began in 1951 with UMass taking a 4-0 win. The Minutemen won the first four meetings by a combined score of 17-0. The two teams did not meet during the 1955 season and the series did not resume until 1971 which was a 0-0 tie. With the exception of the 1988-92 seasons, both clubs have met every year since 1971.
No Place Like Home
• The Rudd Field Advantage has been strong for the Minutemen since the facility's opening in 2002. Over the past three seasons, UMass has posted an 20-9-2 (.700) overall record at home outscoring opponents 85-to-40.
• The shut out against Navy was the ninth shut out posted at Rudd Field. The previous time UMass held an opponent scoreless at the complex was Oct. 29, 2004 in a 4-0 win against A-10 rival St. Bonaventure.
