Lundberg, Gervat Named NEILA Scholar-Athletes

AMHERST, Mass. - Seniors Neil Lundberg (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Chris Gervat (Northport, N.Y.) were named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (NEILA) Scholar-Athlete team. The scholar-athlete team acknowledges graduating seniors with high standing in the classroom and on the field.
Gervat, a senior defenseman, started all 14 games for the Minutemen this past season, scooping up 33 ground balls, good for fourth on the squad. He appeared in all 60 games in his four seasons at UMass, which is tied for the most in school history. He racked up 102 ground balls in his career. Gervat will graduate on Sunday with a degree in Earth Science.
Lundberg, a senior forward who served as a tri-captain this past year, appeared in all 14 games for UMass, scoring 25 points (20 g, 5 a). His 25 points and 20 goals ranked tied for third on the team, and he scooped up 12 ground balls as well. He finished his career appearing in 55 games, scoring 66 points (50 g, 16 a), and picking up 32 ground balls. He will also graduate on Sunday with a degree in Financial Operations.
The Minutemen finished with a 7-7 overall record.
