Busa Named A-10 Pitcher Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts sophomore pitcher Jenna Busa (Lexington, Mass.) was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Pitcher of the Week the conference office announced yesterday. Busa went 1-0 and threw a one-hit shutout in her only outing last week in a 6-0, six-inning win at Central Connecticut on March 30.
Busa earns her second A-10 weekly citation after throwing her second consecutive one-hitter. She has allowed just two hits in her past three starts and has now pitched 25.1 straight innings without allowing an earned run. She gave up one hit and two walks while striking out three in UMass' 6-0, six-inning win at Central Connecticut on March 30. It turned out to be her only start last week since four games were postponed due to rain.
The win for Busa against the Blue Devils was her fifth in a row and seventh in her last eight decisions. After beginning the season 1-4, she has posted a 7-1 record with a 1.45 ERA in the last month. For the season, Busa is 8-5 with a team-low 2.22 ERA.
Busa and the Minutewomen will play a doubleheader at Harvard on Tuesday, April 6, at 3:00 p.m.
