The fifth-ranked UMass men's lacrosse team topped No. 10 Hofstra, 9-6, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Garber Field. UMass broke a 4-4 tie at the half with four goals in the third quarter. Senior Kevin Leveille (Delmar, N.Y.) led UMass offensively with a game-high three goals. Massachusetts will take on the winner of the Maryland / Ohio State game in Syracuse, N.Y. on Saturday, May 17. A full recap of the UMass / Hofstra game will follow shortly.
