Four Minutemen Invited to Attend MLL Draft

AMHERST, Mass. - Four University of Massachusetts lacrosse players will be participating in the 2002 Warrior Major League Challenge to be held on Saturday, June 1, at Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lowell, Mass. The Minutemen who were invited to the event are midfielder Don Little (Clifton Park, N.Y.), defenseman Matt McFarland (Garden City, N.Y.), attackman Marc Morley (Canton, N.Y.) and attackman Dan Paccione (Amityville, N.Y.).

The Warrior Major League Challenge features the best collegiate seniors participating in a game played under Major League Lacrosse rules. The day's festival atmosphere will also include a Fan Fest, the presentation of the Warrior 2002 Collegiate Awards and the 2002 Major League Lacrosse College Draft. Tickets purchased in advance are priced at $5 and are available by calling (888) 847-9700.

As part of the day's festivities, Warrior Lacrosse will present "The Titan Trophy" to the Collegiate Player of the Year. Warrior Lacrosse will also present awards to the top collegiate attackman, midfielder, defenseman and goaltender. In addition, the Top 10 collegiate players will be named to the second annual Warrior Players Club All-America Team.

At 8:00 pm on Saturday, Major League Lacrosse will hold its annual college draft also at Cawley Stadium. The six MLL teams will have the opportunity to draft players who participated in Warrior Major League Challenge, after scouting them during the day's game. College seniors who were not invited to the Warrior Major League Challenge are also eligible for the draft.
