Zywicki Named to the ECAC Lacrosse All-Academic Team

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts sophomore midfielder Jeff Zywicki (Nepean, Ontario) was named to the ECAC Lacrosse League All-Academic team it was announced by the conference office.
Zywicki, an electrical engineering major, finished the season ranked seventh on the team in scoring with 27 points on 16 goals and 11 assists. He played in all 16 games and had at least a point in all but one game. He scored a pair of goals in the Minutemen's, 13-12, overtime loss to top-ranked Johns Hopkins in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals this past weekend.
The all-academic team recognizes those student-athletes who have a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average, have sophomore athletic and academic standing and are significant contributors to their team's success.
Massachusetts finished the 2002 season with a 12-3 overall record. The Minutemen captured both the ECAC Lacrosse and New England championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 14th time in the program's history. Massachusetts finished the season with the nation's second highest scoring offense, averaging 14.13 goals per game.
