SATURDAY'S GAME WITH BROWN
Massachusetts enters the game with a 3-1 overall record, while Brown enters the game with a 1-1 overall record. This is the 41st all-time meeting between the two schools with Brown holding a slight 22-17-1 (.563) edge in the series that dates back to 1954. The Minutemen defeated the Bears, 15-5, in the final game of last season. Current senior Marc Morley (Canton, N.Y.) led the way for the Minutemen with a career-high five goals and two assists. Current junior Kevin Leveille (Delmar, N.Y.) had three goals and an assist.

SCOUTING THE BROWN BEARS
Brown is coming off a 9-8 defeat to Fairfield this past Saturday on the road. The Bears opened the season with a 14-5 victory over Sacred Heart in Providence, R.I. The offense is led by junior midfielder Chas Gessner (5g, 2a), junior attackman Jon Thompson (5g, 2a), freshman attackman Ryan Culligan (3g, 2a) and senior attackman Jimmy Mormile (2g, 2a). The defense is anchored by sophomore goaltender Mike Levin, who has played every minute of the two games this season. Levin has made 28 saves while allowing 14 goals. He has a 7.00 goals against average and a .667 save percentage. The faceoff duties have been split by Kirk Teatom and Matt Winkler. Teatum has won six of 11 faceoffs. Brown is six of 11 on extra-man opportunities this season.

MARC MORLEY HELPING OTHERS
Senior attackman Marc Morley has five goals and a team-high 10 assists through four games. Morley had five points on two goals and three assists in the 13-10 victory over Navy last Saturday and two goals and an assist against Vermont on Wednesday. He had three assists in the season-opener against Hofstra and then followed it up with a goal and three assists against Stony Brook. Last season Morley was second on the team in goals with 29, but had just eight assists in 14 games.

PACCIONE AND TUNDO HONORED BY ECAC
Massachusetts senior attackman Dan Paccione (Amittyville, N.Y.) and freshman attackman Gene Tundo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) earned weekly honors from the ECAC Lacrosse League. Paccione tied a career-high with four goals in the Minutemen's 13-10 victory over No. 12 Navy last Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Paccione had the first two goals of the game to give Massachusetts a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. He netted his third goal of the game during a 7-0 Minuteman run in the second quarter. Paccione capped off the day by scoring the final goal of the game with 5:11 remaining to secure the victory. He also won eight of 15 faceoffs during the game. Tundo had a career-high four points on a goal and three assists in game against Navy. He netted his second goal of the season and had an assist in the second quarter. He added assists on back-to-back Minuteman goals in the third quarter.

THE LAST TIME OUT FOR THE MINUTEMEN
Senior Dan Paccione scored four goals and senior Marc Morley added two goals and an assist to lead Massachusetts past Vermont, 10-3, Wednesday afternoon at Richard F. Garber Field. Massachusetts dominated play in the first half, but could only get one shot past Vermont freshman goaltender Michael Gabel. Junior Kevin Leveille scored the lone Minuteman goal with 2:21 remaining in the first quarter. Massachusetts outshot Vermont 30-7 in the opening half. Vermont tied the game, 1-1, at the 12:06 mark of the third quarter when Mark Prior beat senior netminder Rob Schneider (Huntington Station, N.Y.). The Minutemen regained the lead less than two minutes later when Morley scored off a feed from freshman Gene Tundo. Massachusetts went on to score five unanswered goals to close out the quarter with a 7-1 lead. Paccione scored three of them, while Morley had one and sophomore Kevin Glenz (Merrick, N.Y.) rounded out the third quarter scoring with his first career goal. Prior scored an extra-man goal at the 7:11 mark of the fourth quarter bringing the Catamounts within five, but Massachusetts scored three more times to end any come-back hope. Paccione tied a career-high with his fourth goal of the game, while sophomore Neil Lundberg (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and junior Chris Fiore (Freeport, N.Y.) completed the UMass scoring for the day. Tundo picked up two assists on the afternoon. Schneider made six saves in the cage for the Minutemen, while Gabel recorded 21 saves for Vermont.

TAKE YOUR HATS OFF FOR ...
Senior attackman Dan Paccione and junior midfielder Kevin Leveille both recorded hat tricks in the season-opener against Hofstra, and then each did it again last Saturday in the victory over No. 12 Navy. Paccione scored four goals in each of the last two games and leads the team with 12 goals this season. Leveille had two assists to go along with his three goals against the Mids. He has scored at least one goal in 22 of the past 24 Massachusetts games, including all four games this season. Paccione is the only other Minutemen to have scored a goal in every game this season.

IN CASE YOU DID NOT KNOW ...
Last season Massachusetts finished in the top 10 in every team statistic the NCAA keeps. The Minutemen led the nation in man-down defense (.863) and scoring margin (7.14), finished second in scoring offense (14.86), third in faceoff winning percentage (.624), fourth in man-up offense (.404), fourth in winning percentage (.857) and sixth in scoring defense (7.71) ... Head coach Greg Cannella enters the game with a 55-41 (.573) record. He is in his eighth season at the helm of the Massachusetts program. Cannella graduated from Massachusetts in the sping of 1988.
