Paccione and Tundo Honored by the ECAC Lacrosse League

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts senior attackman Dan Paccione (Amittyville, N.Y.) and freshman attackman Gene Tundo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) earned weekly honors from the ECAC Lacrosse League it was announced today by the conference office.
Paccione tied a career-high with four goals in the Minutemen's 13-10 victory over No. 12 Navy this past Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Paccione had the first two goals of the game to give Massachusetts a 2-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. He netted his third goal of the game during a 7-0 Minuteman run in the second quarter. Paccione capped off the day by scoring the final goal of the game with 5:11 remaining to secure the victory. He also won eight of 15 faceoffs during the game. Paccione leads the team with eight goals in three games this season.
Tundo had a career-high four points on a goal and three assists in game against Navy. He netted his second goal of the season and had an assist in the second quarter. He added assists on back-to-back Minuteman goals in the third quarter. It was Tundo's first career start. He scored his first career goal in last weekend's 8-7 victory at Stony Brook.
Massachusetts is 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the ECAC this season. The Minutemen are currently ranked No. 12 in the latest national poll. Massachusetts returns to action with a pair of home games against New England rivals this week. On Wednesday, March 13, the Minutemen host Vermont in a 3:30 p.m. game at Richard F. Garber Field. They then host Brown on Saturday, March 16, at 1:00 p.m.
