Samuli Jalkanen Earns Hockey East Weekly Honor

Jalkanen recorded two assists and had a plus two plus/minus rating in the 4-3 victory over Providence College on Sunday at Schneider Arena. He assisted on the last two Minuteman goals of the game, including Brad Nizwantowski's game-winner in the third period.
Through four games this season, Jalkanen is leading the Minutemen in assists with three and is tied for the team lead in points with three. Last season, he played in 33 games and led all Massachusetts defensemen with 14 points on one goal and 13 assists.
Massachusetts is currently 2-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Hockey East. The Minutemen return to action on Friday, Nov. 2, with a 7:00 p.m. Hockey East league game at Providence College. Massachusetts then returns home to play Northeastern on Saturday, Nov. 3, in a 7:00 p.m. league game at the William D. Mullins Center.
