Lia LaPrise enters her fourth year on the UMass sidelines in 2027. LaPrise joined the staff as assistant coach in July of 2023 and has helped the Minutewomen to three regular season conference championships, along with two conference tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances.
LaPrise serves as assistant offensive coordinator, while working with the goalkeepers. Most recently in 2026, UMass’ offense led the nation in points and assists per game, and finished second in scoring offense. Kassidy Morris wrapped up her stellar career as the program’s all-time leader in goals (247) and second in points (322). Her 104 points on the season were also a program record. Morris was named All-ECAC to go with her first team All-MAC honors. She finished fourth nationally in goals per game (3.89). Two other attackers earned first team All-MAC honors as Dylan Lyons emerged to post 79 on the season behind 55 goals and 24 assists, capped off by a career-high five goals and eight points in the NCAA Tournament at Navy. Ava Connaughton had 72 points via 33 goals and 39 assists while Katie Peterson also eclipsed 50 points with 29 goals and 22 assists. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Bayley Duffy was stellar in her first season of action, finishing fourth nationally in goals against average (7.78) and eighth in save percentage (49.8), earning MAC All-Freshman Team. UMass was fifth in the country in team save percentage (50.0).
As a team, UMass finished with a 16-3 record, highlighted by a 12-game winning streak while going a perfect 9-0 against MAC opponents in UMass’ first season in the conference. The Minutewomen went on to be ranked 23rd in the final IWLCA National Ranking, while coming in 25th in the KANE Women’s DI Media Poll and final NCAA RPI.
In 2025, Massachusetts posted a 15-4 record and 10-0 mark in the Atlantic 10 while earning the conference regular season and tournament titles. In the wake of the 2025 season, both Jordan Dean and Morris earned USA Lacrosse and ILWomen All-America honors with Morris also claiming A-10 Offensive Player of the Year recognition.
In 2024, the Minutewomen finished 13-5 and finished second in assists per game and fourth in points per game. UMass was among the top-15 nationally in multiple offensive categories, including scoring offense, scoring margin and shots per game.
LaPrise was a standout attacker at UConn, where she finished her career as the program's all-time leader in points and assists. The Windsor, Conn. native was a two-time first team All-Big East selection for the Huskies and led the conference in points in 2021. LaPrise was a team captain for her squad and earned a spot on the IWLCA All-Northeast Region second team as a senior in 2022. LaPrise has also worked with club team Nor’easter since 2018, coaching a range of age groups from middle school to high school.
