Avery Giorgio
Avery Giorgio joined the UMass women's lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in September of 2024. A former Division I Lacrosse player at Holy Cross and assistant at both the club level and Trinity College, Giorgio brings immense experience to the Massachusetts program.

Giorgio comes to Amherst after two stints as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Trinity College. During her time with the Bantams, Giorgio coached attacker Molly McGuckin to 2023 NESCAC Rookie of the Year and Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III All-American Second Team honors. Overall, Giorgio assisted in developing three Division III national all-american, nine IWLCA All-Region and five NESCAC All-Conference selections over her final two years with the team. Over the last two years, Giorgio also helped Trinity qualify for back-to-back NCAA Tournaments including a third round appearance in 2023. 

Giorgio enjoyed a successful playing career at Holy Cross, playing in over 70 games for the Crusaders. A leader over her four years in Worcester, Giorgio served as a team captain during her senior season and was a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy. Giorgio graduated from Holy Cross with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2017.
