Alex Geczy signs professional contract with FC Vizela
AMHERST, Mass. — University of Massachusetts graduate goalkeeper Alex Geczy signed a professional contract with FC Vizela in Portugal, the second division of Portuguese Football.
A five-year member of the Minutemen, Geczy appeared in 41 games with 39 starts, logging nearly 3,600 minutes on the pitch. He recorded a team-high 40 saves across 12 games in the 2025 campaign, posting a 71.4 save-percentage, including a 4-0 shutout against Stonehill on Sept. 16 and a career-high nine saves in a 2-1 victory over Denver on Oct. 4. The Newtown Square, Pa. native posted a winning record this past season, going 5-3-4.
Geczy ranked second in the Summit league in saves per game at 3.33 a contest, and fourth overall in total saves with 40. He also ranked fifth in average goals against, allowing just 1.33 a game.
In his career at Massachusetts, Geczy posted a 18-7-15 record, and recorded 127 saves on a 74.7 save percentage, as well as securing 14 shutouts.
