May 06, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse

AMHERST, Mass. Kassidy Morris of women's lacrosse was named a Mid-American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

The Scholar-Athlete of the Week award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during the week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of the current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

This past week, Morris tallied 10 points over the two MAC Tournament games behind eight goals and two assists to help UMass to the MAC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth. For her efforts, Morris was named to the All-Tournament Team and named Tournament MVP. She tallied four goals and two assists in a 14-5 win over Robert Morris in the MAC Semifinals. Morris went on to score four goals in the championship game against defending MAC Tournament Champion Akron, despite being face guarded.

Morris enters the NCAA Tournament with 12 straight multi-goal games, tallying a hat trick in 11 of them. She is up to 101 points on the season to tie her own program record set last season.

Morris and the Minutewomen return to the field on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at sixth-seeded Navy. Opening draw is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
