Women's Basketball Announces Signings of Three Transfers, One First-Year

Alba Caballero (Ball State), Reagan Hurst (Tennessee Tech), Caroline Dotsey (Butler) and Kiki Scott officially sign with the University of Massachusetts women’s basketball program.
AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts women's basketball program has officially signed transfers Alba Caballero, Reagan Hurst and Caroline Dotsey, and first-year Kiki Scott, announced by the team on Wednesday.
"I was proud of our team's progress last season," said women's basketball head coach Mike Leflar. "23-wins, multiple All-Conference honorees, and growth towards our goal of a MAC Championship. We have eight players returning, and that fact attracted the players we recruited from the transfer portal. Continuity is a strength, and we are built to win now. The players who chose UMass this spring want to make that happen. Our program got better!"
Alba Caballero | 6'3'' | C | Ciudad Real, Spain | Ball State
Caballero appeared in 23 games for the Cardinals in her freshman season, shooting over 56 percent from the field in 334 minutes of action. The Cuidad Real, Spain native scored 108 points and grabbed 114 rebounds, recording a career-high 12-point double-double against Ohio University on Feb. 28. Prior to her time at Ball State, Caballero found success in her prep career, becoming a a highly decorated European player. She has earned multiple national championship medals including a Gold National Championship Medal of Communities and a Silver Medal at the European Young Olympics with Spain. Caballero has earned spots on the U13, U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 national team rosters as well as participated in Basketball Without Borders Phoenix 2024 showcase. Currently, Caballero is a member of the La Cora De Paterna Valencia Basketball Team.

"We saw Alba's combination of size, strength, and skill this past season for Ball State. She has an excellent feel for the game and can score inside and outside. Alba also did a great job rebounding. Overall, her skills make our team much more difficult to guard. I am excited about the player she is coming into our program, and for the player she will become."
Reagan Hurst | 5'10'' | G | Baxter, Tennessee | Tennessee Tech
Hurst appeared in 86 games for the Golden Eagles, starting in 81, including all 27 contests of her senior campaign in 2025-26. Hurst had a career season, averaging 12.0 points per game on over 30 percent shooting from behind the arc. The Baxter, Tennessee native posted double-digit points 21 times last season, including a season-high of 21 (12/13/25 vs Stephens College; 2/12/2026 at Morehead State) in two games.
Prior to her collegiate career, Hurst is a highly decorated player in her home state, helping lead Upperman High School to a Class AA state championship and a 37-0 record in the 2017-18 campaign, claiming three regular-season District 8-AA titles, two district tournament crowns and a Region 4-AA championship. She ended her Baxter career with averages of 15.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.1 spg, as well as shooting percentages of 51.4 from the floor, 31.6 from long-range and 68.6 at the free-throw line. As a senior, Hurst averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.2 steals per game as she shot 53.8 percent from the field, 31.8 beyond the arc and 76.3 at the stripe as she earned TSSAA Class AA Miss Basketball honors. In Upperman history, Hurst became the fifth 2,000-point scorer in the program's record book on Feb. 24, 2021.

"We wanted to add scoring and experience in the backcourt, and Reagan Hurst brings that. Reagan started for a majority of her career at Tennessee Tech and made a significant impact. She is fast in transition, shoots the 3 and can score at the rim. I think Reagan will fit seamlessly with our personnel and how we want to play. Reagan also has great length and anticipation. She will get in passing lanes and impact our full-court and half-court defenses."
Caroline Dotsey | 6'2" | F | Havertown, Pa. | Butler
Dotsey appeared in 31 games for the Bulldogs, starting in 27, averaging 7.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 701 minutes during her junior campaign in 2025-26. The Havertown native score in double figures 12 times last season, including a season-high 25 points against Xavier (12/19/2025). Dotsey shot .475 from the field and connected on 22 triples on the season, while also shooting over 84 percent from the stripe. Prior to her time at Butler, Dotsey was recognized as the Sixth Player of the Year in the America East Conference while competing for the University of Maine. She became the third Maine Sixth Player of the Year honoree while averaging 9.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, shooting 41 percent from the field and 35 percent behind the arc.
Before her collegiate career, Dostey was a standout player at Haverford High School, where she averaged 16.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game as as senior. Dotsey was named All-Delaware County Player of the Year, All-Central League Player of the Year, All-Main Line Player of the Year, Haverford Athlete of the Year (2022-23) and a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist. She Guided Haverford to first Central League Championships since 2012 and ended career at Haverford as the program's second all-time leading scorer (1,360) and all-time career rebound leader (859). She was an All-state selection 6A, three-time All-Central League First Team member, four-time All-Maine Line First Team honoree and three-time MVP of Haverford High School.

"I followed Caroline's successes for quite a few years. I watched her in AAU, and she and her family visited UMass in the past. Our staff is excited we will be coaching her for her senior season. Caroline is a skilled and versatile post player. She made a big impact at Butler last season. She is a proven scorer in the post, and a very good 3-point shooter. Just like Reagan with our guard group, Caroline's experience is going to be a huge asset for our front court."
Kiki Scott | 5'8" | G | Annapolis, Md | Rosedale Christian Academy
"A standout high school player for Rosedale Christian Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, Scott helped lead the Panthers to a 21-10 overall record in her senior season, inclduing lead the program to a Mid-Atlantic Independent Athletic Conference (MAIAC) Championship and Maryland Private School State Semifinal appearance. Scoring over 2,000 career points, Scott was named as the Baltimore Sun All-Metro girls basketball Player of the Year and 695Hoops Player of the Year."

"We recruited Kiki last year before she committed elsewhere. She is a scoring point guard but has skills that will allow her to play multiple guard positions. When she re-opened her recruitment this spring, we jumped at the chance to get her to UMass. Kiki has a great feel for the game. She positively affects the game in so many ways. Kiki will elevate our program on the court."
