Palmieri Named NSCA 2026 All-American Athlete

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) announced Allie Palmieri as a 2026 All-American Athlete Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award recipient. This award recognizes Palmieri's athletic accomplishments and her dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by Sports Performance Coach Simone Morin, Palmieri's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at UMass.

We are proud to have Simone Morin join the NSCA in its mission to safely improve athletic performance, said Eric McMahon, NSCA's Coaching and Sport Science Program Manager, Supporting our student-athletes like Palmieri guarantees a stronger future for the NSCA.

Palmieri had a career year for UMass, averaging 13.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.89 three-pointers per game in her final season for the Minutewomen. The Trumbull, Conn. native ranked 16th in the conference in scoring and sixth in made threes. Palmieri scored in double figures in 18 of the final 19 games of the season, including two 20-point performances. The graduate guard hit at least one triple in 26 of the 28 games she appeared in, including a career-high five against Central Michigan.  

Allie is constantly working to better herself both on the court and in the weight room said Morin. She pushes herself day in and day out. During Sports Performance sessions she challenges her teammates to be better. Over the course of her career she has consistently done extra weight room sessions, and has brought other teammates with her. As a two-year captain, Allie has been a driving force in the weight room that has been a catalyst to improving team strength and fitness, which has allowed us to perform better and better each year on the court.
