Dylan Lyons of women’s lacrosse will be honored on Wednesday.

AMHERST, Mass. – Following an eight-point performance in the NCAA Tournament, Dylan Lyons of  women's lacrosse has been named UMass Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by UMassFive College Credit Union. Lyons will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon this week.

The luncheon takes place on Wednesday, May 13, at noon in the Berkshire Room of the Berkshire Dining Commons. Cost to attend is $17 (15.30 for UMass Alumni).

Lyons finished the NCAA First Round game at Navy with career highs in goals (5) and points (8). She had a hand in half of UMass' goals in a stellar effort, a last-second 17-16 defeat at sixth-seeded Navy. Lyons scored two consecutive goals in the fourth quarter, at the 8:05 then 7:42 marks, to turn a 15-13 deficit into a 15-15 score; she also assisted on the goal that evened the score at 16. Lyons was named by USA Lacrosse Magazine as the game's top performer. Click here for the article. For the season, Lyons ended with 55 goals and 24 assists for 79 points. The 55 goals are tied for 10th in program history for a single season. Lyons ended the season with 14 consecutive multi-goal games, scoring multiple goals in 13 of them.
