AMHERST, Mass. – Sienna Diglio of the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday following a strong effort in Saturday's 19-5 win over Kent State. The award marks Diglio's second of the season, UMass' fifth defensive award and 11th total weekly award of the campaign.

Diglio filled up the stat sheet with two groundballs, a game-high four caused turnovers, a draw control and two assists on Saturday. It marked a career high for points and her first two career assists. She was a key part of a defense that held Kent State to just five goals, marking the sixth MAC team this season in which the Minutewomen have allowed six goals or fewer. UMass held Kent State scoreless for the game's first 17:02. For the season, Diglio owns 20 groundballs, 27 caused turnovers and 11 draw controls.

The win helped UMass clinch the outright MAC Regular Season Championship. They return to action on Thursday at Robert Morris in the MAC Semifinals, with the winner advancing to the championship game (also held at Robert Morris) on Saturday at 12 p.m. All games can be seen on ESPN+.
