Morris and Gatz Earn MAC Weekly Awards

AMHERST, Mass. – Kassidy Morris and Marisa Gatz of Massachusetts women's lacrosse have earned MAC weekly awards, as announced on Tuesday, following the Minutewomen's 18-6 win at Robert Morris on Saturday. The award marks Morris' fourth of the season and third in the last four weeks. In total, UMass has won nine MAC weekly awards so far this season.
Morris recorded 4+ goals and 6+ points for a fourth straight game, scoring six times in Saturday's win at Robert Morris. She had all six of her goals by nine minutes left in the third quarter, as UMass had the game well in hand. The fifth goal gave her 212 for her career, breaking Katie Ferris' program record. Morris now has a hat trick in eight of the 10 games this season. Over the last two games, Morris has 13 goals while she's up to 22 goals and seven assists over her last four contests.
The Minutewomen return to action on Wednesday when they host Bryant at 3 p.m. on Military Appreciation Day.

Meanwhile, Gatz posted four groundballs and a career-high three caused turnovers on Saturday. She was part of a defense that has allowed just 10 goals through three MAC games. Gatz and the Minutewomen shut-out the Colonials for the game's final 27 minutes and allowed just one goal over the final 37:32.
