Morris and Valentine Win MAC Weekly Awards
March 17, 2026 | Women's Lacrosse
AMHERST, Mass. – Kassidy Morris and Bridget Valentine of the Massachusetts women's lacrosse team received MAC weekly awards on Tuesday, with Morris garnering Offensive Player of the Week and Valentine earning Defensive Player of the Week. The offensive honor marks Morris' third of the season and the Minutewomen's second straight after Dylan Lyons received offensive honors last week. Overall, UMass has now won seven MAC weekly awards so far this season.
Morris enjoyed a sensational week, posting at least seven points in both games via a combined nine goals and six assists. She began the week with four goals and three assists in UMass' 17-14 win at Dartmouth out of the Ivy League. It was against a Big Green team that had just one loss and began the season 5-0. Morris had more points against Dartmouth than goals the Big Green allowed in any of the first three teams they played this season. The seven points were the most any player has had against Dartmouth this season (through seven games). Morris went on to post eight points (five goals, three assists) in the MAC opener at Youngstown State, a convincing 21-3 win. It marked Morris' fourth game with seven or more points this season. The final goal of the game (with 6:12 left in the fourth quarter) was the 200th of her career, becoming just the single player in program history to reach that milestone. She is 11 behind Katie Ferris' program record of 211.

Valentine was stellar in a pair of wins for the Minutewomen. At Dartmouth, Valentine had three groundballs, a season-high tying three caused turnovers and two draw controls. She was part of a defense that held the Big Green to 14 goals, which was almost four goals less than they were averaging entering the day (entered scoring 17.83 goals per game). On Saturday at Youngstown State, she also had four groundballs, a caused turnover and five draw controls, which was tied for the game high. She scored her third goal of the season as well.Named the @MACSports Offensive Player of the Week for a third time this season, congratulations to Kassidy Morris ??????
