Minutewomen Claim Tenth Straight Win, Defeating UMass Lowell 18-7

AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts women's lacrosse (12-3, 9-0 A-10) claimed their tenth straight victory, defeating UMass Lowell (11-4, 5-0 America East) 18-7 on Tuesday afternoon at Garber Field. Massachusetts dominated from the onset, claiming convincing advantages in shots (47-19), shots on goal (29-13), draw controls (18-11) and caused turnovers (6-1).Â

The Minutewomen held the Riverhawks scoreless for over 17Â minutes of action, jumping out to a 13-5 lead midway through the third quarter. Massachusetts followed with a subsequent 3-0 scoring run over nearly 13 minutes of action to claim a 10-goal advantage they would not relinquish.Â

Delaney Rodriguez-Shaw led the Minutewomen with a season-high five goals, while also adding an assist. Kassidy Morris also tallied six points, recording four goals and two assists on the day.Â

Ava Connaughton matched her career-high, scoring four goals on seven shots. The Westwood, Massachusetts native has now scored four goals in two of her last three games. Â

Catrina Tobin anchored the defense in net, totaling six saves while snagging three ground balls. Â
