Massachusetts Hockey Earns Sixth NCAA Tournament Berth In Program History

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts hockey has earned its fifth NCAA berth in the past six tournaments and sixth overall and will play in the Fargo Regional as the No. 3 Seed at Scheels Arena on Thursday, March 27. The Minutemen will open the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Hockey Championship by facing No. 2 seed Minnesota in the Regional Semifinal at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The winner will advance to the Regional Championship on Saturday, March 29, vs. the winner of Thursday's No. 1 Western Michigan vs. No. 4 Minnesota State matchup at 4 or 6:30 p.m. ET, which will be televised on ESPNU.

UMass, who won the NCAA Championship in 2021, is seeking its third Frozen Four appearance in the past six tournaments and has a record of 8-4 in the national postseason tournament, 7-3 under head coach Greg Carvel.

The Minutemen earned an at-large bid in this year's NCAA field by virtue of finishing 11th in the Pairwise Rankings with a record of 20-13-5, UMass' sixth time recording 20 or more wins in a season since 2018-19.
