BRONX, N.Y. – University of Massachusetts baseball took game three of the series over Fordham with a 3-2 triumph on Sunday afternoon at Houlihan Park in 11 innings.

UMass now sits at 7-10-1 overall on the season and 2-4 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, while Fordham moved to 10-14 on the yar and 4-2 in conference play.

Kolben registered his first collegiate home run on the afternoon. Beverly scored two runs and Kolben scored one run for UMass, while McCarthy, Kolben and Willi had one RBI each.

Fordham got on the board first with an RBI single through the left side to lead 1-0 early in the second.

The Minutemen tied up the game at 1-1 in the fourth. Beverly led off with a walk, before Braden Sullivan hit a single to advance Beverly. With one out, Willi followed with a single through the right side, as Beverly crossed the dish to put UMass on the board.

The two teams remained tied through the four innings, before  Kolben recorded his first collegiate homer to help Massachusetts take a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth. Fordham knotted up the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth on an RBI single, but a double play from the Minutemen left a runner on base to force extra innings.

In the top of the 11th, McCarthy singled to left field, driving in Beverly to score his second run of the day to give UMass a 3-2 lead. Massachusetts held off the Fordham offense in the bottom half of the final frame to come away with the victory.
