Aubin Joins Baseball Staff As An Assistant Coach

Casey Aubin was a four-year member of the Massachusetts baseball program.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts baseball head coach Max Weir has announced the addition of Casey Aubin as an assistant coach. Aubin, a former member of the program and a 2019 graduate, returns to Amherst from Rider University where he spent two seasons with the Broncs.
While at Rider, Aubin helped the team to two conference championships and an NCAA Regional appearance in 2026. The Broncs were back-to-back MAAC Regular Season Champions (2025, 2026), marking the program's first consecutive championships. He was a member of the first coaching staff in program history that captured both the MAAC regular season and tournament championships in the same season. Aubin aided Rider to back-to-back 30-plus win seasons, including 34 wins in 2025 and 33 in 2026. There, he also coached the 2025 MAAC Pitcher of the Year and MAAC reliever of the Year, as well as the 2026 First Team All-MAAC and Second Team All-MAAC pitching honorees.
Prior to Rider, Aubin spent a season at Southern New Hampshire University, a Division II college. There, he aided the team to two Division II World Series appearances, including the national semifinals in 2023. He helped the pitching staff to top-10 rankings in ERA, batting average against, WHIP, strikeouts and strikeout-to-walk ratio. Aubin worked with the D2CCA East Regional Pitcher of the Year, Jeff Praml, as well as coached five Penman to all-region team honors. He also guided Josh Roberge to a 2022 NE10 First Team All-Conference Pitcher accolade.
Aubin served as the pitching coach at Saint Peter's University from September 2019 to December 2021. While at Saint Peter's, he helped the team to three shutout wins in 2021 against MAAC Conference opponents (Niagara, Marist and Monmouth), which marked the program's most MAAC shutouts in a single season. Aubin also assisted in a n administration role, developed student-athletes to deliver maximum levels of performance, recruited future student-athletes, monitored academic progress of student-athletes and aided in the organization, preparation and supervision of all practices and games.
From 2015-19, Aubin was a volunteer coach with the Seacoast Mavericks U18 team out of Newington, New Hampshire. He developed training regiments and mentored youth athletes, supervised travel and specialized in pitching staff management.
Aubin, a 2019 graduate from Massachusetts, played four years for the Minutemen. Over those four seasons, he accumulated 57 appearances and 130.2 innings pitched. During his senior campaign serving as the team's closer, he struck out 31 batters in 27 innings pitched and held opponents to a .161 batting average and an ERA of 1.00. Aubin went 2-0 with five saves on the year.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. He holds a certificate in criminal justice and was a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, the Chi Alpha Sigma and the National College Athlete Honor Society.
