First-Place Finishes and Falling Records Highlight Massachusetts Women’s Track and Field’s Impressive Weekend

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts women's track and field team had a busy weekend, posting seven new top-10 placements in the all-time program performance list and 13 top-three finishes across the Crimson Open and Crimson Elite on Friday and Saturday in Cambridge, and the Scarlet and White Meet in Boston on Saturday.

Highlights from Competition:
Crimson Elite
- Tesaira Williams placed sixth overall in the women's pentathlon with 3,304 total points, finishing with times of 9.13 in the 60m hurdles (5th) and 2:52.54 in the 800m run (14th), leaps of 5'3" (6th) in the high jump and 17'8.25 (6th) in the long jump and a throw of 35'3.25" (6th).
- Courtney Rowland earned gold in the women's high jump clearing 5'9.25", while also claiming the third-best jump in program history.
- Ainsley Wiesner continued her dominance in the women's weight throw, tossing a total distance of 58'2.5" and securing third-best mark in program history.
- Chloe Taylor claimed the third-best spot in program history in the women's pole vault, clearing 12'9", which was also good enough for fifth overall in the field. Megan Frazee (8th) and Maia Perillo (11th) weren't far behind with clears of 12'3.25" and 11'9.25", respectively.
- Shakira Cadet (9th) earned a top 10 distance in the women's triple jump with a distance of 38'0".
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi (4th), Ali Murphy (5th) and Caroline Mullady (7th) each claimed top 10 finishes in the women's 400m dash, crossing the finish line in 57.06, 57.96 and 58.64, respectively.
Crimson Open
- Natalie Krysta claimed bronze in the women's shot put with a throw of 41'9.25", with Tess Rancourt (5th) and Eve Segal (8th) claiming top-10 finishes with distances of 40'4" and 35'9.25", respectively.
- Shakira Cadet earned silver in the women's long jump with a leap of 17'8".
- Jaliyah Burns (1st) and Grace Keosykhao (2nd) took the top two spots in the women's weight throw with tosses of 56'9.25" and 48'8.25", respectively, with Burns claiming the ninth-best throw in program history. Natalie Krysta (4th) and Mattie Bishop (8th) rounded out the top 10 with throws of 48'2.75" and 43'3".
- Salma Boukhtam (2nd) and Charlotte Henning (3rd) rounded out the top three in the women's 800m run with times of 2:18.96 and 2:21.50, respectively.
- Leann Lombardi earned gold in the women's mile, pacing the group with a time of 5:07.05. Kaylie Dalgar also claimed a top-three finish crossing the line in 5:13.30 for bronze.
- Sadai Headley-Mawasi claimed silver in the women's 200m dash finishing in 25.36. Jana De Raedt (4th) and Faith Richardson (5th) rounded out the top five with times of 25.72 and 25.96.
- Jennifer Williams (4th), Tesaira Williams (6th), Alexandria Scott and Lillian Curry (8th) placed in the women's 60m hurdles with times of 9.01, 9.12, 9.12 and 9.21, respectively.
- Faith Richardson claimed bronze in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.70, good enough for the ninth-fastest in program history. Jana De Raedt (5th) and Ali Murphy (8th) also scored for the Minutewomen, finishing in 7.92 and 7.94, respectively.
- Alysia Spencer, Camryn Travis, Ashley Camillo and Alexandria Scott combined to run 4:00.54 in the women's 4x400y relay, claiming the top spot. Salma Boukhtam, Charlotte Henning, Kaylie Dalgar and Leann Lombardi also medaled, taking home bronze with a time of 4:12.22.
Scarlet and White Invite
- Grace Hanafin (6th), Ruth Michel (9th) and Jordan Lafave (10th) claimed top-10 finishes in the women's long jump with leaps of 17'6", 17'1.25" and 17'0", respectively.
- Courtney Rowland finished fourth in the women's high jump clearing 5'7".
- Caroline Mullady (4th) earned a top-five placement in the women's 400m dash open running in 57.85.
- Alex Costantino (7th) and Rylee Shunney (8th) placed in the top 10 of the women's 1,000m run with times of 2:55.08 and 2:55.34, respectively.
- Ruth Michel (5th) and Winnie Sekyaya (9th) claimed top 10 finishes in the women's triple jump with leaps of 37'9.25" and 36'11.5", respectively.
- Ali Murphy, Lillian Kirry, Caroline Mullady and Sadai Headley-Mawasi placed seventh in the women's 4x400 relay with a combined time of 3:51.26.
